If you are planning to host a party then here are a few mistakes you need to avoid:
Not Having a Budget
Everyone needs to stick to their own budget in order to ensure that they don’t overspend. So don’t start preparing for the party without knowing what your budget is. For example, if your budget is high then you can have a better party with more guests. Also make sure that you have a checklist because without it you will miss out on some important stuff and will be panicking last moment.
Not Including Your Neighbours in the List
A common mistake made by people is that they don’t include neighbours in their guest list. In fact, they should be the first ones you should be inviting at least for the courtesy sake. If you cannot invite them for example if the party is for teens and your neighbours don’t fit into that category, you need to inform them that there will be loud music. This is to ensure that they don’t make any formal complaint against you. To be in their good books you could send them the party food. However, if your neighbours are too fussy then you could have a party at a hotel which provides spacious function rooms. This will give you full privacy and you wouldn’t have to lower the music down for anyone.
Not Preparing Enough Food
It is likely for us to stick on to a budget and due to this, you might order less food. You need to avoid making this mistake because we cannot let our guests leave on an empty stomach also it is embarrassing to tell everyone that you ran out of food. This is why you always need to save a big budget for the food and make sure you order extra. This is because even if you have leftovers you could take back home or distribute it among poor people. However, if you order less food you will not be able to arrange more last moment. Also you need to make sure that there are enough dishes for both vegetarians and non-vegetarians.
Not Introducing the Guests to Each Other
Being a host can be quite hectic as you will have to ensure that everything goes perfectly, your mind might not even be in one place. However, despite this, you need to make time to socialize with each and every one of your guests. In case your guests don’t know each other you need to introduce them and make them really comfortable.
Also if you had any theme for the party don’t take it too seriously because it is likely that some of the guests don’t have time to pick the clothes based on specific colors or they didn’t want to wear a costume (if it was a costume party). Lastly make sure you don’t over drink. This can be a little difficult especially if it is your own party. However, as a host you need to be responsible and keep an eye on everyone so if you get drunk you won’t be able to check if everyone is having a good time.
